Local guide: Peterhead Solar Panel and Battery Installers
Peterhead housing and roofs
Peterhead is a granite town. Fishermen's cottages crowd the old Roanheads area, Victorian merchants' houses line the central streets, and large post-war and modern estates spread inland. Granite walls are solid and roofs are typically slate on older homes and concrete tile on newer ones. Low single-storey cottages offer smaller roof areas, so panel layouts are planned carefully to make the most of every slope.
Roanheads and central conservation areas
Aberdeenshire Council designates conservation areas in Peterhead, including the historic Roanheads fishing quarter and parts of the town centre. In these areas, panels on a roof slope facing a road may need planning permission, and listed buildings need consent. Rear slopes or outbuildings can be a good alternative. We check designations before designing a system.
Buchan coast weather
As the most easterly town on the Scottish mainland, Peterhead is exposed to North Sea winds and spring and summer haar. It is also relatively dry compared with the west coast. Salt air means installers specify corrosion-resistant rails and fixings. Panels still generate on cloudy days, and a battery stores midday output for use when the family gets home.
Arranging your survey
Call 0141 230 0198 or send an enquiry. We arrange a home survey to measure the roof, check its condition and look at shading and your fuse board. You then get a written, no-obligation quote covering panels, inverter and any battery, explained in plain language. We install through MCS-certified partners.
